Posts Worth Mentioning - Crazy Economy Edition
While the economy is vurping up undigested pieces of toxic debt, the PF blogosphere has a lot to say about it. Here are some posts that I enjoyed reading this week, and I think you’ll enjoy them, too:
- Frugal Dad gives us Five Unique Strategies to Recession-Proof Your Household.
- No Credit Needed reminds us that, yes, it is possible to live without borrowing money. Now if only we can get this message across to businesses!
- Bible Money Matters quotes a great verse that seems to have been written for financial times like these. You’ll have to click the link to his post to read it!
- What a better time than now to have a good, healthy, cash-based emergency fund. Mrs. Micah drives this point home while reminding us that a HELOC is NOT an emergency fund. She also has the most succinct description of a HELOC that I’ve ever seen:
In your original mortgage, your bank bought the house and decided to sell it to you in installments. When it gives you a HELOC, the bank essentially buys back part of your house that it’s already sold you and sells it to you again.
