Posts Worth Mentioning This Week – End of Summer Edition
It’s cold and rainy in KC, I’m thinking about what I need to do to get the boat winterized, and we’re going to Lawrence to watch my beloved KU Jayhawks play Louisiana Tech on the gridiron Saturday. These are all symptoms of the end of summer. But weather in the Heartland is freaky, so I bet we’ll end up with some 90-degree weather before the month is out.

- Combining Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs & Personal Finance (My Money Blog) – I’m a sucker for visual aids and what drives human behavior. Combine those two things and you get Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. My Money Blog takes this concept and applies it to finance, and the result is very logical and intriguing. Take a look.
- 7 Deadly Sins of Personal Finance (SavingAdvice.com) – I don’t mean to spoil the surprise, but #1 is not Never Borrow Money, even though it should be. Nonetheless, it’s a fantastic list to help you keep your head on straight.
- Biblical Financial Lesson from the Book of Galatians (Borrow From None) – So many people fail to realize how much financial wisdom there is in the Bible. BFN is reading a chapter a day and extracting financial information he reads and posting it on his blog. This is a fantastic idea and I challenge yon readers to follow along as he does this, regardless of your theological stance. Why? Because depending on how deeply you want to get into it, a majority of the financial wisdom taught in The Good Book can be perceived as rather secular, so anyone can gain from it.
