Posts Worth Mentioning This Week
These are some of my favorite posts I’ve read this week. They’re worth checking out:
- Utlizing The Public Library to Complete Some Goals (My Money Blog) - We live two blocks from our library, so we use it often. It truly is a great resource, and this blog offers five goals you can accomplish there.
- The Bike Commute: How to Prepare to Ride Your Bicycle to Work (Money Under Thirty) - This post caught my attention because I’ve been kicking around the idea of biking to work for quite a while now. I drive a freaking awesome 2000 Toyota Echo that gets 35 miles to the gallon, so I don’t feel too guilty for driving my 26 mile round-trip commute. What’s holding me back is the time commitment. That and the fear of dying. Although, we have a pretty good paved trail network I can use for half of the commute. I’m still undecided.
- Living In A Down Economy - Determining Your Bare Bones Budget (I’ve Paid For This Twice Already…) - This post reminds us that we should have an idea of what our essentials cost us every month. It is especially poignant for those of us without a fully-funded emergency fund because if your income were to stop you’ll have to be prepared to move immediately into Plan B. That’s where your bare bones budget comes into play.
- HOWTO trick your printer into using ALL its ink (Boing Boing) - Not a PF post, but I really hate how printer manufacturers try to milk as much money out of consumers as they can. This is a good idea for getting the most ink out of your cartridge so you can stick it to da man.

I love that first link to the article regarding the library. I believe everybody should go to the library at least once a week. Hmmm, perhaps some people are discovering the library. I checked my holds position on an extremely popular new book, still 500+ out.
